Antelope Valley Medical Center has successfully achieved EMRAM Stage 6 validation - only 33% of hospitals have achieved this accomplishment!
Globally, organizations have utilized EMRAM, the Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model, as a tool to assess the adoption and utilization of EMR functions since 2005.
Congratulations #TeamAVH on this new accomplishment!
Stage 6 requirements include:
- Technology-enabled medication
- Blood products & human milk administration
- Risk reporting
- Full CDS
AVMC will continue to work towards Stage 7, the highest stage, indicating full adoption of the Electronic Medical Record system and processes. Only 207 hospitals nationwide have been validated at Stage 7, making this a major accomplishment and reflection of the hard work teams put into supporting the EMR system.
AVMC is now appearing in the achievers list via the webpage (filter Stage 6, EMRAM, United States, California) below:

What is Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM)?
The HIMSS EMRAM is used to assess EMR implementation and adoption of the technology for hospitals and health systems globally, guiding the data-driven advancement of care in a health system’s acute or inpatient care facilities through EMR technology. Leveraging information digitally improves patient safety and satisfaction by reducing errors in care, length of stay for patients and duplicated care orders, among other things.
