AVMC is proud of our volunteers and all that they do to help staff and the community. For many, volunteering is a call from the heart to lend a hand to where the greatest needs are. Some of our volunteers have reached milestone anniversaries, most recently, Harriet Lee.
Harriet started volunteering in 2006, where her first duties were to assist with bank deposits from the Gift Shop. Amongst the many departments she has lent her time to are the Foundation, Marketing Department, Forensics Services Unit, and of course the Volunteer Department.
She has served as recording secretary for Tri-Valley Auxiliaries in the past (Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and San Fernando Valley). Harriet served on the CAHHS Committee on volunteers for three years; CAHHS is the volunteer arm of the California Hospital Association. She helped to plan the CAHHS conference three years in a row. This is a conference for both paid and unpaid volunteer leadership.
Harriet has helped with two galas to date, multiple bake sales, and has made many quilts to raffle off during the holidays, as a hospital fundraiser. In addition she has become one of our pet therapy members, enlisting the help of her pup Sully to bring joy and smiles to employees and patients alike.
Recently she received her 10,000 hour pin and her 15 year volunteer pin.
We thank Harriet for giving her time and her heart to our hospital.
