Annual Gala to Benefit AVMC’s Pediatric Department

  • Posted On:

(Lancaster, Calif. – September 4, 2015) — The Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC) Foundation will host its annual gala on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the prestigious Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. The event, themed “A Presidential Gala,” features tours of the library including “Football! The Exhibition,” gourmet dining beneath the “Flying White House” in the Air force One Pavilion, live and silent auctions, and dancing to live musical entertainment. Tickets are $250 per person. All proceeds will benefit AVMC’s pediatric department. Congressman Steve Knight will emcee the evening. Black-tie is admired but not required.

Over the past five years alone, the AVMC Foundation has raised more than $3.5 million to support various departments including pediatrics, labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care unit, couplet care, radiology, critical care, forensic services, pharmacy, home health, pastoral care, respiratory services, mental health, and the emergency department. Funds were also used for nursing scholarships, cardiovascular lab and ultrasound equipment, as well as infusion pumps throughout the hospital.

“Each year the foundation gala gets better and better,” said Johnny Zamrzla, AVMC Foundation chairman. “The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is an elegant venue for us to host this year’s gala.”

In addition to the gala, participants will have chance to win a Fiat through the foundation’s opportunity raffle. One lucky winner will receive a 2015 Fiat 500 POP Hatchback 2015, or a Fiat 500e Battery Electric Vehicle Lease for three years or $12,000 cash. The second place winner will receive a cash prize of $2,000, and the third place winner will take home $1,000 in cash. Only 500 raffle tickets will be sold. Tickets can be purchased until Sept. 18. Participants must be at least 18 years old and do not need to be present to win. All proceeds benefit AVMC’s Pediatric Department.

“We are grateful to the AVMC Foundation and the countless donors and volunteers who generously support the hospital,” said Interim CEO, Jack Burke. “This year’s gala proceeds benefit our pediatric department, which provides vital care to our youngest community members.”
