CEOs of the California Hospital Association and California Association of Physician Groups to Offer Insight into the Status of Healthcare Today
Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC) is inviting the public to hear from two of the nation’s leading health policy experts during a free, local presentation on Tuesday, May 2. "The Status of Healthcare Reform" will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the AVMC Community Resource Center auditorium, 44151 15th Street West in Lancaster.
Presenters Duane Dauner, president/CEO of the California Hospital Association (CHA), and Donald Crane, president/CEO of the California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG), will explore:
- An overview of President Trump’s "Repeal and Replace" plan.
- What’s happening in healthcare at both the state and national levels.
- Implications for individuals of proposed changes to the healthcare law.
CHA is one of the nation’s largest healthcare associations representing more than 400 hospitals and health systems. Appointed president and CEO in 1985, Dauner is a well-respected and nationally recognized speaker on healthcare issues. He has served on numerous boards and committees with the American Hospital Association and American College of Healthcare Executives.
CAPG is a national professional association of physician organizations dedicated to accountable, coordinated care. After spending the first part of his career as a healthcare attorney for one of our nation’s leading healthcare organizations, Crane was appointed CEO of CAPG in 2001. He speaks regularly on healthcare issues and is a frequent guest lecturer on healthcare management to graduate students at major universities.
"This is a rare opportunity right here in the Antelope Valley to hear from two nationally renowned thought leaders," said hospital CEO Mike Wall. "Local residents are understandably concerned about potential changes in the way healthcare is purchased, measured and delivered. It is our hope that this presentation will equip attendees with a better understanding of the current state of healthcare in America as well as how potential changes to Healthcare Reform might affect them, their families and their businesses."
