Leapfrog Grade Underscores Commitment to Quality

  • Posted On:

Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC) was awarded a “C” grade by the Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit organization that acts as a watchdog for quality, safety, and transparency at hospitals across the country. This is a marked improvement over past grade cycles, during which the hospital received an “F” rating.

“Today’s announcement from Leapfrog is proof positive that Antelope Valley Medical Center is moving in the right direction. While we are proud of the progress we’ve made, our commitment to excellence and constant improvement doesn’t end here. In fact, this is just the beginning,” said AVMC Chief Executive Officer Michael Wall. “We are excited about our journey toward an ‘A’ grade, and we are thankful to the community for placing its trust in us to provide quality healthcare to the Antelope Valley.”

In accordance with our values, the hospital is committed to:

  • Putting patients first with an unwavering focus on quality and safety.
  • Taking ownership of our responsibilities, maintaining transparency and open channels of communication.
  • Working as a team by building relationships founded on respect.
  • Demonstrating integrity by doing the right thing every time.
  • Seeking excellence in our never-ending quest for top-tier quality.
  • Employing innovation in solving problems and making timely decisions.
  • Showing compassion, tenderness and kindness in every interaction

“The board of directors has made quality and Leapfrog a top priority,” Wall said. “By honing our focus on quality and the overall patient experience, we have moved the needle in the right direction. I expect this forward momentum to earn us an ‘A’ rating in future Leapfrog reports.”
