New To You Thrift Store Celebrates 50 Years
Supporting the Antelope Valley Medical Center Auxiliary and AV Community since 1971
Lancaster, CA, May 21, 2021 — To commemorate the New to You 50th anniversary, the thrift store will be offering a half-price sale on all items in inventory. The store will have a 50% sale the week from May 25th - May 28th, and is located at 44256 10th Street West in Lancaster. The golden anniversary will also be celebrated by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting on May 24th at 11:00 am at the store’s location.
In its 50-year history, combined with the Auxiliary department, the New to You thrift store has been able to donate over $4 million to Antelope Valley Medical Center for items such as critical care beds, lift equipment, ultrasound machines, and crash carts to name a few. The New to You Thrift store has benefited the AV community for 50 years, and in turn supported the hospital’s programs; creating a win-win for the community.
“The thrift store is a staple in our community, and we’re proud to celebrate the 50 years of support they have provided to AVMC,” said Edward Mirzabegian, CEO for Antelope Valley Medical Center. “We thank the staff, volunteers and donors that make this anniversary much more meaningful, with their efforts the thrift store has flourished over the years.”
Staffed entirely by volunteers, the store helps residents find second-hand or donated merchandise for reduced prices. The New to You thrift store is open 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and closed weekends. Donors may drop off new and gently used items to support the Antelope Valley community; they accept fashion accessories, shoes, home goods, arts & crafts, and a variety of clothing items. They do not, however, accept large furniture, mattresses, used pillows, computers, TVs, monitors, copy or fax machines.
