Baby Bryson was born shortly after midnight on January 1st.

(LANCASTER, Calif., January 1, 2025) — Antelope Valley Medical Center (AVMC) is
thrilled to announce the arrival of the first baby born in 2025! Baby Bryson was
welcomed into the world at 12:18 a.m. on January 1, 2025, weighing 6 pounds, 6
ounces and 17.72 inches. The proud mother, Rashonda Hudson was overjoyed as she
welcomed the arrival of her first son, who has already brought smiles to the AVMC team
and the Antelope Valley community.

“This is a joyous way to start the new year,” said Antelope Valley Medical Center CEO,
Edward Mirzabegian. “We are honored to share this special moment and be a part of
baby Bryson’s arrival. We look forward to continuing to provide excellent care for all our
patients in the coming year.”

To celebrate the occasion, baby Bryson and the family received a special gift basket
from the AVMC Auxiliary, including a car seat, baby essentials, blankets, and
keepsakes, as a token of the hospital’s congratulations. Founded in 1957, the Auxiliary
is a group of volunteers dedicated to raising funds through the hospital gift shops, thrift
shop, and other seasonal events.

The hospital prides itself on patient safety and proven expertise to provide better health
outcomes. As a cornerstone for maternity care in the region, the arrival of the first baby
of the year is a cherished tradition at AVMC, symbolizing hope and new beginnings.

The AVMC Women and Infants Pavilion (WIP), offers a spacious maternity care facility,
with a complete array of obstetrical and newborn services. It features 48 private Couplet
Care rooms that are furnished with special beds and bassinets, so that mother and baby
can stay in the same room until they go home. AVMC also provides the area’s only level
IIIB neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to care for our region’s tiniest and most
vulnerable patients. Combined with advanced technology, the NICU is covered by board
certified Neonatologists who provide specialized in-house compassionate medical care
24-hours a day, 7-days a week.

AVMC is a designated Baby-Friendly birth facility, where the lactation team ensures
optimal level of care for infant feeding, and for mother-infant bonding. The team
empowers new mothers to feel confident about breastfeeding, which in turn provides
numerous health benefits to their newborns.
