Healthcare Price Transparency

Antelope Valley Medical Center is committed to providing quality service, while supporting healthcare price transparency. Our goal is to help individuals make informed decisions about their care.

We understand that healthcare cost can be puzzling, in addition to the stress and uncertainty of waiting for a bill in the mail. We would like to support individuals with the necessary information needed to make informed health care decisions. As a result, we are providing a comprehensive Hospital Pricing List known as the ChargeMaster (machine-readable file), click on the Shoppable Services hyper-link to access the file. This file provides a list of standard charges for the items and services that we provide, in addition to hundreds of Shoppable Services as well as discounted cash prices.

If you need assistance or have any questions, you may contact the business office directly at 661‑949‑5781 or 800‑403‑1857.

Billing for Our Services

Antelope Valley Medical Center will submit claims directly to your insurance company for payment. Our registration personnel will ask for your insurance information each time you visit. Providing complete insurance information at the time of registration will assure your account is billed correctly.

Regardless of insurance coverage, patients are ultimately responsible for payment of their medical bills. We will first bill your insurance on your behalf and make all reasonable efforts to obtain payment from the insurance carrier.

Payment of all known deductibles, co‑payments, and non‑covered services for pre‑scheduled procedures and admissions will be requested prior to services being rendered.

Billing for Other Medical Services

In addition to your bill from the hospital, you may receive bills from the Emergency Department physicians, radiologist, anesthesiologist or other specialists. Please contact their offices directly if you have questions concerning their bills.

Notice to Patients - Your rights and protections against "Surprise Billing" or "Balance Billing".

Insurance

Antelope Valley Medical Center is contracted with most major insurance plans. We also participate with both Medicare and Medi‑Cal programs. If you do not see your health plan listed, you may contact Managed Care Services at 661‑949‑5690.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400.00 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call HHS at 877-696-6775.
