X-Ray

Radiography, more commonly called X-rays, is the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging test for used for chest and spinal diagnostics. During an X-ray, a part of the body is exposed to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. The noninvasive medical test helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions using pictures of the inside of the body.

Fluoroscopy is a specific type of X-ray that shows motion in the body, rather than still images. It’s used in examinations and medical procedures including barium enemas (lower GI), barium swallows (upper GI) and others. Showing the activity inside the body helps physicians assess body processes as they are happening.
