Expert Care Before, During, & After Your Baby’s Birth

At the Antelope Valley Medical Center, Alpha Charter Guild Education and Breastfeeding Center (EBC), we provide the guidance and expertise you need before, during, and after the birth of your baby. The EBC, which is located inside the Women and Infants Pavilion, offers an array of programs and classes for parents to be as well as new parents.

Childbirth Education

Childbirth preparation classes prepare the new mother and her coach for labor and delivery, postpartum and the early parenting experience. Information includes physical and emotional preparation for birth, signs and symptoms of labor, relaxation techniques, anesthesia options, and more.

Classes are held monthly and can be taken over four consecutive Wednesday evenings or on a Saturday for eight hours. There is a class fee, which is due upon registration, this covers the pregnant mother and her support person. Payments can be made by cash or credit/debit card.

We suggest you make reservations early in your pregnancy as classes tend to fill rapidly. You should plan to attend the course in your 7th month of pregnancy or up until 3 to 4 weeks before your due date.

Call (661) 726-6210 for upcoming dates and to register for childbirth education classes.

Newborn Care

The Welcome Home Baby class covers newborn characteristics, diapering, feeding, bathing and safe sleeping, among other topics. When combined with the Childbirth Preparation course, the fee for this class is reduced. It is also available on its own for a fee. It is offered on the last Thursday of the month.
